CROCKETT CO.,TN SPRAGGINS...*** help
Charles Butts 9/25/01
He was the son of Jerdie Norvel Spraggins. His name was David Thomas, and he was married on 9-20-1896 in Dyer Co., TN.
This is a VERY DIFFICULT family to find and follow. The name of Jerdie is just what I made the name out to be from the 1860 Haywood Co., TN census. He lived in Bells Depot P.O., and it was take on August 13, 1860.He was listed as being 30, a farmer and born in TN.His wife was Angeline, age 24 also born in TN.She had to be his second wife, and the mother of David Thomas. There was also a James (age 12), Wm F. (age 9), Fannie (age 2) and David (age 1).Fannie also had to have been the daughter of Angeline.Living with them was a William T. Spraggins, who was 23, and born in TN.He had to have been a younger brother of Jerdie.
Norvel was again found on the 1880 Crocket Co., TN census, age 54, but is now married to an Em F. or Eva F., who is 29 yrs old. They had to have gotten married between 1870 and 1878, because of the ages of the children.Fannie is 22, David is 20, Henry is 18, Lucy is 15, Jesse (f) is 12, and Ada is 10.
Then I loose them all again.
I just found the death records for Fannie, and it states she was born in Madison Co., and her mother was Angeline Powell.
