An 1850 census from Union, South Carolina shows a William Sprouse, 52 years old , married to a Sarah Sprouse, age 40 years old. There are 6 children reported alive at that time:
Henry (my great great grandfather): age 19, Betsey: age 17, Polly: age 15, Lydia: age 13, Eliza: age 9, and a girl named Gustyann age 5.
Is it possible that this William Sprouse is one of the children of Vincent Sprouse? If so, that would make him my gggggrandfather and you and I cousins of some sort. I've been trying to find the name of William's father, but there seems to be some confusion. I've seen listings of another Vincent in that time period. Two different or one and the same? Any help greatly appreciated!
Michael Sprouse
