Re: Benjamin Stackhouse died 1776,Rev War ?
Benjamin lived in Hunter Settlement in Jan. 1775 according to tax lists. His will was probated Apr. 21, 1774 but recorded Feb. 1, 1776.Since his wife died in Briarcreek Twp., Northumberland (now Columbia Co., PA) there is some speculation that although the will is recorded in Mt. Bethel, Northampton Co., PA, Benjamin may have been in the process of moving to the Quaker Settlement at Briarcreek.I don't believe he died in the Rev. War.As Gene responded, few of his immediate family gave much support to the cause.Only brother, Thomas, is thought to have served.Benjamin's children in the will are James, Rebecca, Sarah and Susannah.
