Stafford yDNA Project
I encourage all male Staffords to have their yDNA analyzed. For information about what the yDNA test is about and how to participate in the Stafford Project, visit the web site . Only males have y chromosomes, which are passed down from father to son with rare changes. Chances are that a Male Stafford today has the same y-chromosome as a Stafford male ancestor a few hundred years back. When a number of Staffords have had their yDNA tested it will be possible to identify the different lines of descent of present-day Staffords. You may link up with a Stafford who has a documented pedigree. The yDNA testing is helpful only if a large number of males submit samples. Collecting a sample is quick and painless. The analysis does cost, but the potential gain is well worth the cost.
