NATHANIEL“NATE” STAGGS

Nathaniel “Nate” Staggs, a resident of New Braunfels, passed away on Wednesday, February 8, 2006 at the Methodist Hospital in San Antonio at the age of 75. Mr. Staggs was born on August 11, 1930 in Rolla, Arkansas to Emory Staggs and Antoinette Smith Staggs. He served his country proudly during World War II in the United States Air Force. Upon his retirement from the Air Force, Nate worked in property management for the Gary Job Corps. He and his wife, Jacqueline Gowdy Staggs, were married on May 1, 1959 in San Antonio. Mr. Staggs is survived by his loving wife, Jacqueline “Jackie” Staggs of New Braunfels; son, Harry “Buck” Staggs and his wife Stephanie of Aurora, CO; grandchildren, Kristina Staggs and Amy Staggs Straatmann; sisters, Ima Miller of Sherman Oaks, CA, Henrietta Johnson of Ventura, CA, and Mary Guyer of Seminole, FL; brothers, Jack Staggs and wife Kathleen of Huntsville, TX and L.M. Staggs and wife, Clara Belle of Malvern, AR; sister-in-law, Nancy Gragg and husband Dee of Alamogordo, NM and dear friends, Kenneth and Diane Ninneman of New Braunfels. Public visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 9:00PM on Friday, February 10, 2006 at Doeppenschmidt Funeral Home with the family to receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Funeral services will be conducted 10:30 AM on Saturday, February 11, 2006 at Doeppenschmidt Funeral Home with the Reverend David Gragg officiating. Burial will follow at Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial donations may be given to the Grace Memorial Church building fund.
