Re: J.D. & Frances A. Teer Staggs
I'm also seeking info on my ggrandfather J.D.(John Dolphus)Staggs born Nov.1854 Ala. and his wife Frances A.Teer Staggs born March 3,1856,Ala. died June 25,1905,buried in Salem Methodist Cem. near Chester,Ms.,Choctaw Co.Married about 1879.They lived in Pickens or Greene Co. Ala. until after 1892,were in Ms. by 1896. Her mother must have moved with them because she is also buried in Salem Meth.Cem near Chester,Ms. She was Celia Teer (marker shows Selah) born May 14,1811- Sept. 27,1899. 1900 Choctaw Co.Ms.census shows J.D.Staggs,b.Nov.1854,Frances,b.Mar.1856,
James R.,(James Rufus)b.Sept.1881,William b.Nov.1883(this is my grandfather William Wesley),Alvin ( incorrect should have been Albert H.),b. Dec.1885,Lillie,b. Dec.1887,Andrew,b. Sept.1892 all in Ala. and Charlie,(Charles Dolphus)b.May 1896 and Aaron,(Aaron Elisha)b. Sept.1899 in Ms. I have found W.M. Staggs and wife Ellen with stepdaughter M.E.McCarty and daughters D.V. and V.E.Staggs, in the same area as my known Staggs family on the 1900 census in Choctaw Co.Ms. Also in 1910 Webster Co.Ms.census I found Tom J.Staggs and wife Nancy A., Oscar L.Staggs and wife Virgie L.,Junior Staggs and wife Mollie, with daughter Virginia and son Edgar Staggs,Arthur Staggs and wife Pearle, and Monroe Staggs and wife Eula with daughter Mattie V.,son Lurel J.,son Loral and unmarried son 6 months old. I feel that these are related to my family line for they are all living close together. My library does not have the means for me to search Ala.If anyone can help me to solve this and find my missing links in the 1800's in Ala. I would appreciate it. I also show that ourStaggs are buried in Mt.Nebo Cem. near Ackerman,Choctaw Co.Ms.
