Re: Tennessee Staggs, English or Dutch?

All Staggs may have been English at one time before some immigrated to Holland, I don't know. The Staggs in Wayne Co. TN that immigrated from NC claimed to be Dutch and it’s believed had some animosity because their ancestors were driven from New Amsterdam by the English. However, I haven't found their lineage beyond NC.

To the best of my knowledge the Dutch Staggs from NC and English Staggs from SC in Wayne Co. TN never associated or intermarried.I do not consider myself a Staggs researcher, so others can surely offer more.
