My William Rush Staggs was born abt. 1847, the son of William & Lucinda {Garner} Staggs! William Staggs Sr. was born abt. 1823 in South Carolina, and died in Jefferson Co., Birmingham, Alabama. He and Lucinda had four known son's; Wm. Rush, Thomas Jefferson, David Floyd, and John W. Staggs! William Rush and Thomas Jefferson Staggs left Jefferson Co., Ala., and first settled in Pickens Co., Alabama. And much later, abt. 1890-1900, they came to West Point, Clay Co., Miss. Thomas Jefferson & Nancy Allen {Elmore} Staggs last lived in Webster Co., Miss., and were buried at Providence Methodist Church Cem., near Maben, Webster Co., Ms.! William Rush Staggs first married Cynthia Rebecca Wilburn, and second to Ida Butler! Cynthia died in Tuscaloosa Co., Alabama, and was buried at the Wilburn Family Cemetery, Elrod, Tuscaloosa Co., Alabama! William Rush and Ida Butler Staggs lived in Clay Co., and Chickasaw Co., Miss.! They were buried at Arbor Grove Church Cemetery, Chickasaw Co., Miss.! I have lot's of other info. about several Staggs Family who lived Jefferson Co., Alabama, and went about the same way as mine. Several of them went to Arkansas. Where did your William Staggs come from? Did they come from Alabama?
