Karen,
The Tennessee State Archives & Library is a great place-it is located at 403 7th Avenue North, downtown along one side of the State Capital. On the corner of Charlotte Avenue and 7th Avenue is the Tenn. Supreme Court Building and the library is right next door - it sort of looks like you are entering the road to the capital.Their number is 741-2764.They have all kinds of records on microfilm, even some stuff online at
http://www.state.tn.us/sos/statelib/tslahome.htmhttp://www.state.tn.us/sos/statelib/tslahome.htm if you want to look at it.When my parents died we started looking for this stuff on my dad's side - Cameron - and have found some interesting things at that library like handwritten wills by my great-grandfather and really neat stuff.
You'll get hooked if you go there! If your picture is different from mine, I will return your email with the ones I have which were taken at the home in Bordeaux where they grew up.My mother called Lenora "Aunt Noma", and her sister is named after Lenora - she is still living in Atlanta and is 82 - Lenora Elizabeth- and she has a great memory for all this stuff. If we were on a more private forum, I would give you her address if you wanted to write her.
Betty
