Family tradition has it that our forefather Onecypheros was was born on an Indian mother. Are you familiar with what 'family tradion' on the Boren side is?When googling the other day I came across what looked to be bibliography information/notes on the Cherokee removal for the Fourcorners website. In these notes were the names of our kin and neighbors. The fourcorners website appears to be dedicated to the subject of Cherokee heritage. My theory right now is that our kin may have been eyewitnesses to the Cherokee removal of 1838, but not direct participants. Looking at the Benton county website posting of 'godspeed' information the names and the appearance in the 'Indian removal' notes appear to correlate with jotting down names from reading that passage of Godspeed. From cross referencing various reading it appears our Kin in the War Eagle area were considered to be of english or Scottish ancestry mixed with Native American. There's a passage in Godspeed (quoted at the Benton county site) that refers to the brothers Levi and Isaac Borne as bear hunters. Do you know more about the stories on the Biren side of the family?
