FamilySearch database of the 1880 Census, Pleasant Valley, Scott, IA:STARK, Wm., 56, b. PA, parents b. Scotland; Sarah E., 55, PA PA IRL; sons b. Iowa: Ephram, 28, & Newton I., 21; granddau. Bell BARRINGER, 9.[Newton must have been Isaac Newton.]
In Columbus City, Louisa, IA, 1880, BARRINGER, Samuel, 37, IA OH VA; wf. Mary J., 34, IA PA PA; daus. b. Iowa:Blanche, 11, & Bina, 6.
Wm. W. STARK was in the 1864 (war) draft as reserve #13, Pleasant Valley.Sarah E. STARK was listed as owner of land in Pleasant Valley Twp. (78 - 4), Sec. 23, and later also in 26. {Since the land was in her name, Sarah may have inherited the money to buy the land.That might help when you find her origin in Pennsylvania.}
In 1870, Scott Co., IA:STARK, Wm. W., 47, PA; Sarah E., 44, PA; (sons b. Iowa) Ephraim, 19; Joseph, 14; & Isaac, 12.
There are probates in Scott Co., IA, for STARK, Annetta #17346; George, 10701; Isaac Newton, 12943; Joseph K., 3077; & {STARKE}, John, 9095.
In Pleasant Valley Cem., Scott Co., IA, STARK:

Annetta (3 Aug. 1861 - 12 Dec. 1920)
Wm. Lee (23 N 1938 - 23 Apr. 1945)
{reference:USGenWeb > IA > Scott County}.
Ephraim & Joseph were still of Scott Co. on the 1930 census. {I don't have the census, just a database.}In Pleasant Valley, the eldest STARK was Wm., b. ca. 1889.
Your best clue to origins might be obituaries and death certificates for Wm. W. & Sarah E.Be careful not to confuse Sarah E. with the Sarah A. who was 65 in 1880, PA, with dau. Mary J., 24, PA, Le Claire, Scott Co., IA.
