Where is the supporting source documentation on this claim that Mary Starkweather's mother was Metacom's (King Philip)daughter and that she was a granddaughter of Massasoit?I have not found nor seen posted any proof of this "oral history."The Thomas Stanton Society has also claimed that Mary Starkweather was Massasoit's granddaughter -- without any supporting documentation.Other family web pages go as far as saying Mary's mother really came over on the Mayflower!About the only confirmed documentation out there are several church records that agree her mother's first name was Ann and that she married John Starkweather.

Regarding the Metacom and Massasoit relationship theory, let's post some supporting documentation and cite sources, please.I, too, am a direct descendant of Mary Starkweather Stanton, and have been searching for something more substantial on this subject besides "heresay."
