Steed obituary
Max LeRoy Steed, 85, peacefully departed this earth to live eternally in heaven with his Lord and Savior on Sunday morning, March 29, 2009 in Houston, TX.He was the son of Arbon Leonard Steed (m. Katie Vermilya), son of John Batson Steed (m. Mary Ann Rebecca Wallace), son of John Calvin "Hop" Steed (m. Elizabeth Moffett), son of Rev. Leonard Marbury Steed (m. Sarah Anne Davis), son of Moses Steed (m. Rebecca Batson), son of Phillemon AKA Philip Steed (m. Penelopy Marbury), son of John Steed (m. Ann Hill).
Max was born November 11, 1923 in Leachville, AR, the youngest of four children.His mother died when he was two years old.His father remarried to Thelma Elizabeth Bartley in 1927 and moved the family to Tulsa, OK.Max was a veteran of WW2 having served as a Merchant Marine and continued in the US Navy Reserves until the Korean War. Max was in the construction business, having learned it from his father and grandfather.
He was proceded in death by his sister, Ruth Collier of Tulsa, OK and his brother, Robert L. Steed, of Houston, TX.He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Ellen Floriene Holland Steed, daughters, Ellen Kay Stewart of Broken Arrow, OK and Gail Ann Miller and husband, John, of Cypress, TX, and son, Max A. Steed and wife, Roberta, of Carrollton, TX, twelve grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and a sister, June Nelson, of Tulsa, OK.
Daddy will be missed!
