Re: Edgar Steel in New Orleans

Since I posted the message about Edgar Steel in New Orleans, I've learned a lot more about him and his family. He descends from John Steel of Hartford, CT. Edgar's father was Hezekiah Steel of Hudson, NY. Edgar and his brother Thomas followed his older brother, John Barnard Steel, to New Orleans in 1848. Edgar and Thomas Steel married two sisters from Mobile, AL. They were Belle E. and Mary G. George, daughters of Archilles and Caroline George, originally from Pennsylvania. The Georges lived in Mobile from 1830 to 1880.
