Do you know where Henry and Mary were married?Lincoln County, North Carolina is adjacent to Mecklenburg County, North Carolina where some members of my Stevens/Stephens family are thought to have lived.
I'm still trying to work out the family of Asa Stevens (1794-1848) who is buried in the Paw Creek Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina.
Asa Stevens is believed to have been born in Mecklenburg County, Virginia. It can be confusing that he was born in Virginia and died in North Carolina but in counties with the same name.Strange things do happen and since cousin marriages were common back then, sometimes men did marry women with the same names as their mothers.
Asa Stevens was a son of John Stevens & Keziah Kendrick.John did have a sister named Mary Stevens who was born around 1770 so she would have been close to the same age as your Mary Stevens born 1775 but my Mary Stevens married John Carter and moved to Georgia.
Asa's father, John Stevens, had a uncle who was also named John Stevens. The uncle John Stevens married Mary Cunningham.I do not have a list of Uncle John's children.
