margaret jane (mcdearmon) robertson and w.w. stickley (1809-1862) were married 24 april 1850 at "cedar hill," appomattox county in a ceremony performed by her father the rev. james mcdearmon (the richmond enquirer, 30 april 1850).she was the widow of major james robertson (1804-1849).the rev. stickley was twice a widower: first of mary ann cochran (1824-47); second of martha allen who died within a month of their marriage in 1849.
the rev. stickley died in washington co, virginia in 1862 and records of the settlement of his estate there are on microfilm at the library of virginia in richmond (washington co. chancery causes reel 251).
i am a descendant of his eldest daughter (by margaret mcdeamon) mary frances (molly) who married her cousin w.j. mcdearmon.which child of susan (susie) coleman is your ancestor?
i have much information on the stickleys and mcdearmons.
