Stiles in New York

Looking for information on Stiles from New York, specifically Kingston.
My father's mother's mother's last name was Stiles. I have very sketchy information on a man named Charles Stiles who served in the Civil War, possibly in a unit called the Zouave.

There was a John Stiles who served in the 20th New York Regiment from Kingston (possibly Charles was in the 20th also). But I have no known connection to John in my family.
