Looking for African American Stiles

By Dr. Paul Foster, Jr. September 20, 1999 at 07:44:14

I am looking for STILES/STYLES primarily in Mississippi and Louisiana. My grandfather, Castoria STILES was born in MS 1899 to Dave STILES (1871,LA) and Caroline HOLLINS (1871, LA). In 1900, Dave's mother, Margaret (1850, Md) and brother, Joseph (1882, MS) were living with him at the time. This information was obtained from the 1900/1910 MS census. From the MS census the following children were also listed: 1900 - William (1892,LA); Wilbert (1897,MS); Castoria (1899,MS); 1910 - Wilbert, Castoria, Zeno (1900,MS); Henry T (1902,MS), and Estell (1909,MS)In 1916, Castoria married Lillie Mae DAVIS (1898, St. Louis, MO).

My interest here is to find information on: William STILES (1892,LA)family and descendants; Wilbert STILES (1897,MS) family and descendants. If you have information on any STILES in Louisiana that may have a connection with the STILES listed above, please share it with me.
