I agree with you. No doubt families would do just what you described. There is much about this speculation that does not hold water. The movements of the James Brothers after the raid (if in fact they were there) are not exactly known. Bill Stiles was supposedly with them at this point, but there is no proof and only a few reports of three riders after the split with Youngers. I don't know what the truth is and it may never be known. But it is interesting none the less. When I portray someone, especially an actual person, I try to learn as much as I can about the sort of person he was. Very little is written about Mr. Stiles. Is this Bill Stiles part of your family?
Oh by the way, I understand they are attempting to dig up Jesse James again. I wonder what it proves at this point. Thank you for your reply. Vince Bergdale
