Clark, It appears from what I can tell, that the Bill Stiles that was involved with Jesse was a real person. The question of course is was he one and the same with Chadwell and if not, is the man that surfaces in LA in 1913 really Bill Stiles. But what did this fella have to gain at this point. He is 70+ years old and finds Christianity. He never gets any benefit from his claim so what was his motive? Emmett Dalton (Dalton Gang fame) knew Stiles in the old days and believed this Stiles to be real. They hated each other and even at their advanced ages, threatened each other with bodily harm. Well, I dont suppose even this discussion will ever prove or disprove anything but it sure is all interesting. I am fascinated with this time of history and finding these types of links to the past are fun. We are shooting the first scene of a movie on this book this Sunday. I will play Bill Stiles so this has been interesting for me. I started this search for information too late to be of help for my portrayl of Mr. Stiles I am afraid.
