Sharon,
The information I have doesn't exactly match yours, but I think we are working the same family.
I have the following information:
Joseph Stimac b. c 1871 in Austria; m. about 1897 in Austria, to Antonia Pintar, b. Jun 1876 Crni Lug, Croatia; d. Jun 1917 in Lewistown, MT, from childbirth complications. There is a family story that Joseph was murdered in IL in 1956 and is buried near Benton, IL.
Their children were:
Joseph Stimac, Jr., b. c 1898 in Austria (no other info on him)
Anna Stimac, b. Feb 1901 in Austria; m. John Besich c 1919; d. Aug 1935 in Great Falls, MT from a car accident; children were: Margaret and Tom Besich
Antonia "Eveyln" Stimac b. Jun 1906 in Austria; m 1. Benjamin Anderson; m 2. Charles William Millard, d. Aug 1982 in Baltimore, MD; one son, Ben Anderson
Josephine Stimac b. about 1911 in MT; m. Paul Taylor; son Kenneth Taylor
Frank John Stimac b. Dec 1912 in MT; m. Hazel Crabtree; d. Nov 1990 in Riverside Co., CA; children: John, Jim and Sharon Stimac
Stephen Stimac Mark b. 1917 in MT; was adopted by Tony and Julia Mark after the death of his mother.
There was also an Anton Stimac who married into my family. Several family sources say he was not related to the family above, which I find hard to believe since he was living next door to Joseph Stimac and his family at the time of the 1920 census. [Anton's death certificate says his father was named Bartol Stimac. However, Anton would have been the right age to be the eldest son of Joseph and Antonia.] Anton Stimac married Mary Svigel and they eventually settled in Danville, IL.
Do any of these people sound familiar?
Janet
