Hi Janice,
I made a goof in my first post.David and Sarah had 8 (including Sarah) children, not 11.I was looking at Andrew and Sarah Dye's Family Page at the time (too many Sarah's).Andrew and Sarah (Minor) Dye were Sarah Dye Stinchcomb's grandparents.Sarah Minor's family has been well documented back to the Plantagenet's of England.
David Stinchcomb indeed was in the War of 1812, a Private in Capt. Ezekial Kurtley's Co.I have his service records which only amount to a few pay stubs.I have the same information re: year of marriage (I have March 17), birth, death, and burial.
Sarah Dye was the d/o Stephen and Mehetable (Gerard)Dye.Stephen Dye was b. Dec. 23, 1770 in Green Co., PA, the s/o Andrew S. Dye and Sarah (Minor) Dye,.Mehetable was b. 1775 in Gerard's Fort, PA, the d/o John Gerard and Rebecca (Van Meter) Gerard.Sarah and Stephen Dye came to Ohio by way of Kentucky in 1803.
I have much more detailed information if you would like to e-mail me.Sheri
