I know this is not the Tunis Stires in my family tree but it might be a great-grandson perhaps! The Tunis Styers I have was born January 13, 1764 in Hunterdon County, New Jersey, he passed away June 25, 1830 in Hunterdon County, New Jersey. I have his wife as Margaret Carcoff born March 3, 1764 and she passed February 12, 1830 in New Jersey. I have them with one child John S. Stires born September 23, 1784 and he passed October 11, 1851 in Reading Township, Hunterdon County, New Jersey. I would like to have a photocopy of your document if you could send me one unless it might cause damage being it is an original document. I have a gggrandfather Daniel Styers who served in Hook's Batallion NC troops during the Civil War as well as did his son John Pressley Styers who served as a confederat prison guard at Salisbury Prison in Salisbury, North Carolina. I am very interested in any family members who may have fought. Please let me know if you have any other Stires/Stire/Styers listed on muster rolls...Thanks!!
