Re: Stobbe, 1870's Swaroczyn > Pittsburgh > Nebraska
I didn't check my original posting here to see what info I had already included, but the only information I have about Jacob is this:father is Jacob Stobbe, b. abt 1814 and died in parish Gardschau (includes Swarozyn) on 9 Mar 1872. (LDS #585987)His wife was Margaretha Chojnacka, b. abt 1815.They were married 19 Jan 1840 in Rukoschin, parish Liebschau (LDS #1619034).Their children were Marianna bapt. 20 Dec 1840 Rukoschin, Catherina bapt. 28 Feb 1947 Swarozyn, Johann bapt. 15 Apr 1849 Swarozyn & m. Marianna Wesierska 26 Oct 1873 Wentkau (same parish), Joseph bapt. 1847 Liebschau, Nicholas bapt. 14 Dec 1851 Swarozyn, Catherina 12 Dec 1853 Swarozyn, Jacob bapt. 17 Feb 1856 Swarozyn (stayed in Pittsburgh), and Pauline bapt. 16 Jan 1859 Swarozyn.
There was more about the family in the LDS films.I just didn't have the time to pursue it because it isn't my direct line. But the Stobbe's married into and were a big part of my distant family.I know a fair amount about them because of their lives in Nebraska, very near to my family, KALKOWSKI.The Kalkowski's were also from the same parish in Poland, lived in Pittsburgh 1874-1879, then were in Sherman County, Nebraska in April 1879.I will be happy to fill you in on what I have about the Nebraska Stobbe's if you'll fill me in on Jacob's decendants.I have quite a bit.If you can tie some of the dates above to your Jacob, or if you inquire at St. Stanislaus Kostka in Pittsburgh for some bapt records of Jacob's children, we might be able to make the connection.Let me know.I don't have more time right this minute, but I will be happy to work on this with you.
