Both the Stobbes and Wesierskis are closely related to my Kalkowski family. Many Stobbes married many times into my family (or vice versa) and I think the mother of all the Wesierskis, Elizabeth Filbrandt who married Valentin Wesierski, was a sister to the mother of all the Kalkowskis, Caroline Filbrandt Kalkowski. I haven't found 100% proof yet but it seems likely.
I spent many, many hours looking at microfilm of the church reocrds from Poland. In most of the church records the name is spelled Stobbe, but now and then one priest would spell it differently than another priest. I am quite confident of the family of Jacob Stobbe & Margaretha Chojnacka, though.Their marriage, with their ages, were recorded in the parish of Liebschau (Lubiszewo in Polish, though at the time records were kept in Latin words with German town names). They were married 19 Jan 1840 at Rukoschin, within the parish of Liebschau.Jacob Stobbe died 9 March 1872 as recorded in the parish of Gardschau (Godziszewo in Polish), just a few kilometers west of Rukoschin. In his death record, names matched his wife and five of his children. All of his children were: Marianna, Catharina, Johann (yours), Joseph, Nicolaus, Catherina, Jacob, Paulina
There were two Catharinas, as I found both baptism dates, but no death dates. The first probably died young.Johann is the only one I have researched and found descendants for, since he emigrated to Pittsburgh, PA (1878-79, I don't have the exact date) and later (1882) to Nebraska.
That's all the time I have for now.I can add more later.I hope to hear from you.
