My attitude is that sloppy research and inaccurate information would only be junkified further on Facebook. The main purpose of research, anyway, is not to get one's picture (and perhaps one of her cat) before the faces of a multitude of strangers who will little note nor long remember it.

And I daresay that most of us older, veteran researchers don't really give a rat's butt about Facebook in the first place.
