For posting on all sites--who, when, where? And give some detail!

I've been at it for many years, and I'd like to suggest a few things to the horde of posters on genforum sites. I've always been turned off by well over half the postings. They might read--on this site, for example--"Looking for Stover," " Mary Stover who married Luther," "Stovers in Arkansas," "Looking for Wimpy Stover," "Help. Looking for Ezekiel Stover," etc.. etc.

Names, dates and places; names, dates and places! A combination of 2 or 3 of those categories always will draw my immediate attention. The posting then should include some detail of a like nature, otherwise it just looks stupid and greedy. Get my drift?
