Hi Ann,
You a[pear to have some informed knowledge on the Stribling family and I'm hoping you might be able to help me out with a few questions.
Have you anymore info on the William Stribling of Newberry Co., SC? Where did he come from? Parents? Spouse? etc.
Was he related to either of these Striblings?
A Thomas Stribling, possibly the son of Joel Stribling who died in Stafford Co., VA. Thomas married Elizabeth Newton in 1725 (St. Paul's parish Register, Stafford Co., VA). They had 2 sons - Newton born in 1726 and Thomas born in 1728. Elizabeth died in May, 1728 and Thomas remarried in 1729 to Jane Thomas. All of this is recorded in the St. Paul's parish Register of Stafford Co.
Yet another Thomas Stribling was found in Orange/Frederick Co., VA records. In the Frederick Co., VA COB 3:15 in 1748. He was named as the father and administrator for the Estate of his son William Stribling (1721-1748) during the minority of Williams' son Sigismund Stribling.
THis Thomas Stribling was reprtedly married to a woman named Elizabeth and was the son of Thomas and Elizabeth Taliaferro Stribling.
Are these 2 Stribling families related and how? Did either line move to Newberry Co., SC? Did either have any relationship with the Pennington family of Orane/Frederick Co., VA and Newberry Co., SC?
I'm grateful for any ideas you can share with me, please.
Linda
