Strolin_Liverpool c. 1900-1970
My Mother's maiden name is Strolin. The family came to Liverpool, England, UK before WWI and we think was originally spelled Strohlein. However I have since found that Strolin, which we always thought was an anglicized version of the German, is used in German speaking countries and in Switzerland as a surname. Physically, I have been likened to Eastern European people in my features. Considering that before WWI a lot of Europe was the Austro-Hungarian Empire, is it possible that the surname Strolin may have existed in Hungary, Czechoslovakia or Poland etc.? I would like to know more about its origins. Please contact me at my e-mail address given here if you have any connection with the Strolin family that lived in Albion Street, Liverpool 5, throughout most of the 20th Century until around 1970-71. Thanks.
