My name is Anne Hanson and I too am also interested in the Rev. George Studdert in relation to a hanging at Old Melbourne Gaol in November 1863 when George was the chaplain at Melbourne Gaol.
You probably know this already but in the 1861 Sands& Kenny directory he is listed as living at Franklin St. West. In the 1865 Sands & McDougall directory it appears he is not only the gaol chaplain but also chaplain of the Hospital and Benevolent Asylum. He is also mentioned briefly in the book 'The Difficulties of My Position: The Diaries of Prison Governor John Buckley Castieau 1855 - 1884" - if you like I would be happy to transcribe the entries for you.
Peter, I am wondering if anyone in the family has a photograph of George Studdert.
