Re: Suit ancestors out side the US Pre 1690
I'm sorry. My James SUIT died in 1813 in NC but he "may" be the same man who was in GRANVILLE CO NC in the WAR OF 1812.He made his will in 1811 but didn't apparently die until 1813.The will was in St. Mary's MD.I "think" he was brother to DENT SUIT due to proximity in St. Mary's Co MD.If so, he may have gone to NC and also returned to MD. I still don't know "my" James' wife's name.
I have a big question for you. HOw on earth did you search the land records?I got a password but there is no search engine that I could find to search a surname. Please let me know how you did that.My Samuel SUIT was James's son and he was born between 1794 and 1799 and died sometime around 1850. HE maried twice.First to Lydia CLARKE in St. Mary's (1817??) and then to ELPETH "EALCY" JONES in the 1820's (Myline.)I have no clue if Lydia died or if they divorced as they sure were not married long.
Thanks again for all your help.
