Jacob Sutter
It has been a while since I've posted my Sutter info, but I still have the same brick wall.My great great grandfather was Jacob Sutter (born 11/12/1827 in Switzerland-died 10/1/1864 in Montgomery, AL).He married Adelgunda Himmelsbach (born 1/28/1821 in Baden, Germany-died 10/19/1881 in Montgomery, AL) on 3/25/1841 in New Orleans.I do not know if they were on a ship together to New Orleans.I believe they left New Orleans either a year or two later and migrated to Montgomery, Alabama, where they raised a family of 11 children:Louisa, Joseph, Josephine, William Tell, Adelina, Jacob, Jr., Edward, Mary Ann, Charles, Benjamin, Frances Blanche.I have a great deal of info on these children.
My brick wall, well actually I have two major brick walls...who are Jacob's parents and how is he related to the John A. Sutter of California goldrush fame.If anyone has the answer to those questions or is looking for info on this family, please contact me.Thanks,
Melissa
