Hi Elizabeth,
Thanks for the reply! As I mentioned in my email, I am a Glover descendant and have been researching the descendants of Chesley Glover (b. 1761) for over 20 years.
Actually you have helped me tremendously! You supplied the death dates for Thomas & Judith Swearingen.I have also found that Andrew V. Swearingen was born April 1840 (this according to his headstone [Bethany Cemetery, Montgomery Co., MO]), which means that he was Judith's son.It is my feeling that if Frances had any children by Thomas Swearingen, they died before the 1850 census was taken [4 Oct 1850].
Ann E. Glover and James M. Glover that are listed in the 1850 census are actually siblings of Frances [Glover] Swearingen.Ann E. was the youngest of the family and Frances and James were near the oldest. They were children of Robert Glover and Martha Anderson of Callaway Co., MO.Ann Glover was only 1 1/2 years old when her mother died and was 7 when her father died, so seeing Ann residing with her much older sister does make sense.
In your research, have you discovered the cemetery where Thomas and Judith Swearingen are buried?Do any headstones exisit?
Thanks very much!
David
