There are two Andrew Swearingens who are often confused who had land dealings in early Kentucky. One is the son of Thomas Swearingen of the ferry (b. 1709) who died 1824 in Washington Co., Pennsylvania. The other is the son of this Andrew's brother Thomas Swearingen IV. The younger Andrew is the one who lived in Montgomery Co., KY and had children named Thomas and Lydia. We know this from the will of his brother Thomas Swearingen V. I believe Andrew's (of Montgomery Co.) son Thomas is the same Thomas who later lived in Montgomery Co., Missouri. However the death certificate for this Thomas's son Thomas states that his mother was Judith Mosely.
I do have a Thomas Swearingen (b. 1814 KY) who is the son of Josiah and Mary L. (Wood) Swearingen who lived in Bourbon and Nicholas Counties in Kentucky. Thomas subsequently lived in Monroe Co., Howard Co., and Shelby Co., MO. He was living in 1850 in Howard Co., Missouri near his uncle Samuel's family. The other Thomas in Howard Co., MO was the son of his uncle Samuel.
