I have been researching my Pinkston/Swink ancestors and have discovered what I believe to be a link to Peter H Swink and Catherine Roadsmith.I would like to propose that my ggrandmother Louisa Matilda Swink, b 1804 in Rowan Cty, NC and who married Peter Pinkston 3 May 1825 is the daughter of Peter H Swink and Catherine Roadsmith.Peter H Swink and Catherine Roadsmith married 14 Feb 1803, which would fit with Louisa being born the next year.Peter H Swink was b 1782 and died in 1823 in NC. I believe other children of Peter H Swink and Catherine Roadsmith to be Margaret E Swink, b abt 1819, M (female) Swink, b abt 1814, and John Henry Swink, b abt 1808; all born in Rowan Cty, NC.Margaret E Swink m John S Gibson of Tenn on 01 Feb 1847 in Arkansas Clark Cty.Living in John S Gibson's household in the 1850 census Springhill, Hempstead, Ark is an Ann C Smith, age 71 of NC.I think Ann C Smith and Catherine Roadsmith Swink are the same person as I have found a Catherine Swink who married a Samuel Smith on 16 Oct 1826 in Rowan Cty, NC.John H Swink m. Amanda J Davis of Va on 25 Apr 1837 in Clark Cty, Ark.In the 1850 Clark Cty, Ark census, Louisa Pinkston and my ggrandfather are living in the household of John H Swink.Children in this household are Peter Henry Swink, age 3, and Leander Davis Swink, age 12.By 1860 Louisa and David Pinkston are living in the household of John and Margaret Gibson; also in that household is a M. Gillasby (possibly a Swink), female age 47 of NC.There is an Alice A Gibson, age 8, b in Tx and an Alice A Gillasby, age 10, b in Ark. Ann C Smith must have died between 1850 and 1860, as she is no longer listed in John Gibson's household, and if still alive would have been 81.Other children of John and Margaret Gibson are Arthur A, b abt 1848 in La, J RR (male), b about 1854, and Belle, b about 1858.

I also think that Peter Henry Swink b 1782 is the son of Henry Swink b 1762 in Philadelphia, Pa., and the grandson of Hans Michael Swink, b abt 1725 in The Palatinate.

I would like to correspond with anyone who might be researching these Swinks.
