I'm curious as to your grandmother's name, I dug up a lot of informatlon on John's family from Cumberland.His brother William was my grandfather. They also had a brother Thorley and a sister Mary then there was an older half sibling Vincent Leavelle and the Swope children were younger half siblings.

Just like in your family, Bridget wasn't given her due place in the family to the point that when asked what the grandmother's name was many would say Mary but my Dad did say it was Bridget.

Bridget and Irvin remained married until Irvin's death in 1916 this is when Bridget became the official wife of John Swope.
