I am a retired Policeman.My Tagg family has been in Ohio
since 1834, in Jackson, Oh.I live north of Columbus.
My 5gfather, William Tagg/Tag got around a lot.He had a son william then left Ohio -I think.He may have had a son Wilson Tag aka Tagg in PA. c 1818 ? We can not find a trace of him after 1838.Son William stayed and here we are.Have been searching a Benjamin Tagg in Phil about 1810.Sometimes he spelled it Tage.Ben was RevWar soldier.Can not trace back to him yet..
Others say we came from montag or montague - may never find out.
