Re: Isabella Tait / James Somerville Midlothian
My greatgrandmother was an Isabella Tait and she had an auntie who was christened on 15/2/1804, so was about the right age for your Isabella; In our researches she and her mother were called Isabel(l), but this could be an error or a contraction of their real names. The punchline, however, is that my Isabella Walker [nee Tait] was in Leith [the port suburb of Edinburgh] by the 1881 census as was her mother & some siblings. Great-great-aunt Isabell was born in Belster, Bower, Caithness, Scotland and her siblings were born there or nearby. Does this sound like your ancestor?
