An update. Based upon new information I feel that Mark TARVER (1786-1849) was a son of Sameuel TARVER, III and Celia JORDAN.He was not born in 1779 as is often reported and he was not married to an Eve ARDEN as is so often reported. He was married to a Sarah and they are buried in Hopeful Baptist Church in Burke County, GA. William, Samuel Bennett and Mark TARVER all occupy about the same location in Burke County, GA in 1820-1830 censuses, although Samuel moved to Washington County, GA before 1830 but Mark and William remained.I am not sure who the father of Allen TARVER, who married Lucretia DANIEL, was -- it could be either Mark or Samuel B. TARVER although it doesn't really matter.
Also, Lucretia DANIEL and Allen TARVER have a living descendent in Jefferson County, GA -- a Jimmy TARVER, age about 80, and Jimmy has a son who lives down in FL.His father was a Dr. William Allen TARVER, probably JR, because Jimmy was born about 1920. Jimmy, according to my sources, owns a large part of southern Jefferson County, GA.He lives in Wadley, GA.His TARVER lineage is: Jimmy (Dr. William A., Jr, William A. Sr., Allen, Mark, Samuel, III.......).
The reason I think that Mark TARVER is a younger brother of Samuel B. and son of Samuel III is: (1) Samuel III was living right next to the Edmund MURPHEY Family in Hepzhibah, Richmond County, GA in 1800. (2) The DANIEL family of Burke County, GA need a family link to the MURPHEY family in Hepzhibah and this "Mark to Samuel TARVER,III connection" provides that link. Without it, there is no link for Robert W. and James L. DANIEL to marry two of Rev. Nicholas MURPHEY's daughters, which they did. We already know that Allen TARVER, who is probably the son of Mark TARVER, married one of the DANIEL girls -- Lucretia DANIEL about 1835.
I am also now in agreement with the TARVER and VALLOTTON family in that the parents of my DANIEL clan from Bethany (now Wadley), Jefferson County, GA were a Robert C. DANIEL (b. abuit 1770 - d. before 1840) and a Penelope (1773-1846), possibly LANE, of Burke County, GA. Penelope's 1846 obit is listed in the Southern Christian Advocate.
I also feel this DANIEL family are descendents of John DANIEL of York County, VA and we have information that seems to say there were eight DANIEL boys that immigrated through NC to GA after the Revolution, with Robert C. DANIEL of Burke County, GA being one of them. They may have stopped in Wayne County, NC or some other NC county for a generation of so after the Revolution before finally arriving in GA sometime about 1810.
I am also looking for a Julia or Rachel, possibly VALLOTTON or TARVER, born about 1820.If someone knows of such an individual, please contact me at John@outdoorwriter. com. Thanks, in advance.
