Re: TARVERS of Burke and Jefferson County, G
A assume you know a lot of this TARVER information was done by an early TARVER researcher and a lot of it seems to be wrong.Mark E. TARVER (1786-1849) had the known children named: Allen, Mark, Jr, Wilson and William. In 1820 Samuel B. TARVER (I think I said Samuel III and this was wrong) lived in the 65th MD of Burke County, GA.By 1830 he is in Washington County, GA, just across the line from Bartow, Jefferson County, GA.At the same time Mark E. TARVER moves into the same spot on the census for 1830 that Samuel B. was occupying in 1820.Samuel B. moves out and Mark E. moves in.That tells me, family.....
1820 Burke County, GA Census:
Outside the 65th MD Burke County, GA (1820)
In the 65th MD Burke County, GA (1820)
Daniel, Robert C. (possible parent of these DANIELS
Erwin, Richd. (a Richard ERWIN married Nancy DANIEL (1st))
Tarver, Saml. B. (Son of Samuel III and Celia JORDAN)
Wise, William (a Frederick and Thomas C. WISE married Sarah DANIEL and Nancy Daniel ERWIN (2nd)
Vallotton, Francis (one of the WISE girls married one of his kids)
Most of this bunch seems to be buried at Hopeful Baptist Church in Burke County, GA.However, Samuel B. TARVER is buried in the TARVER Cemetery which is really in Jefferson County, GA -- right along its border with Washington County, GA and a few miles west of Bartow, GA.
I can only tell you what I think and I think Mark E. TARVER was a son of Samuel, III and a brother of Samuel B. TARVER.I am not sure that Allen was not William Allen TARVER because that was the name he gave his son born in 1849.They all seem to come out of Samuel TARVER, II who was from Surrey County, VA.Another major branch, besides Samuel, III is the Andrew TARVER line.He married a JORDAN and his son, John, also married a JORDAN and they went to Wilkes County, GA.I do not know anything about the TARVER bunch in Barnhill, SC.
Another real canditate to be the father of Robert C. DANIEL is Josiah DANIEL (1743-1811) of Granville County, NC who was married to an Elizabeth KEY but she may well have been a JORDAN.Now do you see the link between this bunch? We also know this Robert moved to GA in 1812 and a move like this typically follows the death of one or more parents. We just do not know but this bunch is close, real close.....
The problem is -- this TARVER genealogy has been all screwed up by various researchers and it is very difficult to unravel.I can only tell you want I think and I am not related to any of them, so I have no axe to grind nor am I predisposed concerning this family.Anyway, this is what this part of it looks like based upon what I see concerning its involvement with both the DANIEL family and their collaterals.
