Re: thomas tarver st. george parish, ga by 1769
My Tarver line is probably totally different from yours but just in case......
John Tarver, my Great Grandfather, was born in Georgia about 1841.His daughter, Elizabeth, was born in Kentucky in1866.I have been unable to find his wife's name or any other children born of this marriage.
The 1880 Census shows John living in Healing Springs, Independence, Arkansas.
He was married to Levicy Southerland. The marriage took place in Arkansas.Levicy had three children, the oldest born in Kentucky and the two younger ones born in Arkansas, by her previous marriage to Thomas Southerland. She and John were the parents of my Grandmother, Arkie May Tarver, born in1882 in Floral, Arkansas.
In 1997 Arkie married my Grandfather, Alfred E Ellen.Levicy gave her consent for the marriage, but listed her name as Levicy Southerland. Arkie's and Alfred's marriage ended in divorce in the early 1900s.Arkie remarried and became estranged to her three daughters who eventually lost track of her. I finally found her listed in the Social Security Death Index.Within the past year I have made contact with Bob Marshal who is Arkie's grandson from her second marriage.
I have been unable to find any additional information about John Tarver. If this information is of any use to you I will be happy to hear from you and share information.I'm sure Bob would also like to hear from you.
