I'm jumping in really late here! The Chandler Taylor in Waitsfield, Vermont in 1850 is my husband's ancestor. His full name was Moses Chandler Taylor, named after the deceased first husband of his mother Azubah (Childs) Taylor who first married Moses Chandler. She 2nd married Elias Taylor, son of Samuel Taylor from Deerfield, Mass.Azubah's & Elias' first son was named Moses Chandler.Moses preferred to be called Chandler. He m. Sarah L. Barron and then Elizabeth (Eastman)Ward, a widow.
Sorry, it's not your Chandler.
There is a handwritten genealogy at the Deerfield, Mass. historical center about the Taylors descended from John Taylor, emigrant from England. We believe he first came to Lynn, Mass. maybe and then for sure settled in Winsdor, Conn. Then his descendants moved up the Connecticut River and fanned out from there.
