SAMUEL ELLOR TAYLOR b 4.7.1855 Ardwick Manchester England

I wonder if anyone has any information regarding
SAMUEL ELLOR TAYLOR (born 4.7.1855, Ardwick, Manchester, Lancashire, England (married Alexandra Mary Cartledge on 17.9.1880)and him emigrating to either Australia and/or America after appearing in the 1911 England Census, at which time he was 56 (a widow since 1903).There is a story that he went to America.
Any information on this would be much appreciated.
