Re: teasdale genealogy
Noticed your message re a James Teasdale father of Thomas ( 1643) who married Barbara Grainger. Don't know anything about James- but have mapped many of the descendants as I am tracking ours and thought we fitted in somewhere as our Teasdales were supposed to have priginated in Rosedale or have connections with Rosedale.
I am a descendant of William b Tickhill in 1818. His father was George- married Hannah Mathews. It was thought he was born in Rosedale in 1784, and was the brother of Jemmy, Mally, William 1794, Tommy and Elizabeth born to a Thomas and Ann however recently sighted some records and Geogre born 5 May 1785 died 7 June 1785- aged 1 month so now think the info may not be correct- also Jemmy dies as a baby as well. A George b 1796 and aged 54 appeared in the Tickhill 1841 census with a wife Hannah, Anne aged 15 and George aged 12.
I have been in contact with some of the descendents of John b 1771 and Jane Ash who has sons John 1793 who married Margaret Jacksonand had William whose descendant came to Australia like ours only they came to NSW whereas mine ( William) came to South Australia.Thomas b 1765 who was a brother of John b1771 had a daughter Mary who dies in SA so am thinking there may be a connection but am not sure where.
Thomas and Barbara had William 1731
who with Mary Smith had Thomas 1765 and John 1771 also Richard 1761. Would you know anything about him as I gather he had son George b 1796 and am wondering if it is the same George who married Hannah Mathews in 1815 and lived at Tickhill. They had Mary b 1816, William b 1818, Sarah b 1823, Anne b 1826 ( and perhaps if the census is of the right family a George b 1828!( whom we did not have as registered).
Would you have any knowledge of any of these people given you are have an interest in Thomas and Barbara?
