I think it is likely that Archibald's brother John Telfer born or baptized June 6 1773 is my ancestor. There are a number of conflicting trees on Rootsweb centering around the John Telfer Katherine Braidfoot/Broadfoot pairing. I need to go back and look at the actual OPR records.

The entry in the marraige records on scotlandspeople for John and Katherine is uncharacteristically (for the time) lengthy.

Do you have any hint that John was married to a Margaret Braidfoot first?
