The niece Agnes that you refer to may be the Agnes Waugh who was a daughter of John's sister Christian Telfer (b.May 14, 1828). Agnes Waugh is a greatgrandmother of mine. Therefore, I would be most interested to hear what she may have been saying about her life and times. Agnes Stewart (ne Waugh) died at age 40 shortly after her daughter Agnes was born (the daughter died a few days later as well). My grandfather William Stewart was about 6~8 years old at that time. Agnes married James Stewart in 1869 and lived in Carrington until her death (1887). My grandfather William emigrated to Canada circa 1905. James Stewart remarried and named a subsequent daughter Agnes Loudon Stewart (B. 1900).
