Sirs Kineage and John Tench
A number of early Virginia history texts refer to King Charles I of England's establishment of a Council of Superintendence over Virginia in 1632.The commission, led by Edward, Earl of Dorset, was empowered to ascertain the state and condition of the colony.Among the commissioners listed were also Sir Kineage Tench and Sir John Tench.
Does anyone know whether these Tench gentlemen were somehow related to the Tench family of early Charles City and Prince George Co., VA?I'm a descendant of Daniel Winn and Sarah Virginia Tench.I have William Henry Tench b. abt 1674, Bristol, England; d. abt 1699, Charles City, VA as Sarah's grandfather.
Thanks!
