For Your Use: Tettertons and Like Names in North Carolina
In researching Tedders/Tudors in NC I also documented Tettertons and similiar names that I am providing for your use.Use care as there are two distinct lines of Tetterton, etc.One line is from John Tetterton of England who came to Perquimans in the 1600s.The other line extends from the English rebel, Thomas Tedder, who was shipped to Va via Barbados in 1635.His son was first documented as Tider then it became Titterton. This family arrived in NC by 1702 when William Titterton married Sarah Lilly and were also in Tyrrel County before branching out ro other counties and some names changed to tedder, Tuder, etc. This line of Tittertons is in the FamilyTreeDNA project.
Please provide any corrections or additions as I would like to provide this file to a free genealogy site or else to ancestry.
