Re: ancestry of Johann, Mathias, Hubert and Peter Theis from the Eifel, germany
I am sorry to say that there was no Theresia Theis in my ancestry at least in the 19th century. Trier is not far from Luxembourg but this former roman capital has never belonged to Luxembourg, but always to Germany.
As it lies in the Eifel it seems close to the places where my ancestry came from but still it was somewhat remote away. Maybe we have common ancestry further back in time but apparently not in the 19th century.
I do have a family-book from the Region of Auw near Prüm which is further north in the Eifel but apparently there is no Theresia in that book. But on the other hand my Theis- ancestors came from some other parishes near Prüm which are not included in this special book. From the department of (what is "Standesamt" in English?) wedding-records in Bleialf I have just those names I mentioned, so if there had been a sister named Theresia I would not know but due to the remoteness of Prüm and Trier I doubt that my ancestry came from that place. Anyhow thanks for the hint to the other pages, I will check them for further information.
so long, good luck in Your investigation
