Mr. Thomas m. Mary E. Barnes Christman c. 1860 - 1865 prob Texas or Arkansas
Mary Elizabeth Barnes, born Feb 1840 in Mississippi, was married 4 times, first to a Mr. Christman (Chrisman), by whom she had a daughter, Victoria Belle Christman (b. 15 Sep 1859 Texas). I hope to learn who this man was and where they married. Mary Elizabeth Barnes may have been a sister of my great-grandmother, Martha Barnes, and therefore a daughter of John S. Barnes and Martha Cannon of Yalobusha Co., Mississippi, and Cass Co., Texas.Mary Elizabeth married (2) a Mr. Thomas about 1860-1865 and had another daughter, Georgia Ann or Anna Georgia, about 1866 in Texas. These marriages may have been in northeast or central east Texas. The second may have been in Arkansas. I'd like to learn the identity of this man also.
Mary Elizabeth Barnes married (3) Jeptha Norton Garrett c. 1869 perhaps in Brazos Co. or Burleson Co., Texas and (4) James A. Mitchell 14 Mar 1878 in Williamson Co., Texas. She had three daughters with Mr. Garrett: Laura G., c. 1871; Frances Eldorado "Fannie" or "Eldo" c. 1872; and Ella Norton 4 Apr 1875, all in Texas around Burleson Co. She had one daughter with Mr. Mitchell, Marguerite "Maggie" in April 1881 in Stockton, Alameda Co., California. She died 10 Dec 1908 in Alameda Co.
Georgia Ann Thomas, b. 1865/1866 in Texas or Arkansas, married Grafton J. Hillman, b. Aug 1860 in California, in 5 June 1895 in California. In the 1900 census they resided in San Francisco, San Francisco Co., CA, and in the 1910 census they were in Marin Co., CA.No children.
